Daily Productive Sharing 062

(The English version follows)

Your task list should be the keeper of all tasks. It is the full inventory of things you plan to do. If, however, you're like me, that inventory is pretty full.
The purpose of the task list is to bring order to that chaos and give you a framework to hang current and future tasks and keep them in perspective.

至于日历,则要仔细考量,只有符合下面三个标准的代办事项才会被他放入日历里:

How long will this take?
Do I have that kind of time available?
Exactly when will I give it that time?

他还给出了不少实用建议:

Let's say one of your on-deck tasks is a client proposal, and you immediately think "one hour". Make it two. You can always scale back later, but if you are using calendar blocks and they are too short, you will fail at it.
In my case, I often have a one-hour calendar block called "Legal Flags". Those are small flagged client items in my OmniFocus database that I can lump together and get through quickly.
So in answer to the question of what goes on my task list and what goes on my calendar, I'd say while all of my tasks are in my task list, only a select few graduate to the calendar.

Some people manage their time with a to-do list, some with just a calendar, and some with both. David Sparks, who specializes in Apple's ecosystem, wrote an article about the differences between the two types of tools. As a full-time attorney, he publishes several guides to Apple's software each year, and what makes him so effective is that he combines the strengths of both a to-do and a calendar to plan his time wisely.

As he sees it, a to-do list is an inbox into which all he wants to do are dropped.

It is the full inventory of things you plan to do. , that inventory is pretty full.
The purpose of the task list is to bring order to that chaos and give you a framework to hang current and future tasks and keep them in perspective.

As for the calendar, it should be carefully considered and only items that meet the following three criteria will be placed in his calendar.

Do I have that kind of time available?
Do I have that kind of time available?
Exactly when will I give it that time?

He also gives some practical advice:

Let's say one of your on-deck tasks is a client proposal, and you immediately think "one hour". Make it two. You can always scale back later, but if you are using calendar blocks and they are too short, you will fail at it.
