Daily Productive Sharing 1045 - Three Gaps
One helpful tip per day:)
Why do we keep eating foods that we know are unhealthy? Scott Young believes this is actually caused by our cognitive gaps:
- There are three levels of cognitive gaps: one is the gap between facts and current scientific research; another is the gap between current scientific research and public perception; and the last is the gap between public perception and actual behavior.
- The most important of these is the last one, where we know certain truths but fail to act on them.
- To change this, the key is to understand how we think and how we build habits. Only by doing so can we reduce this gap.

为什么我们明知道有些食物对我们的健康无益,仍旧不停地吃它们?Scott Young 认为这其实是我们的认知差异造成的:
- 认知差异有三层:一种是事实与当下科学研究之间的差异;一种是当下科学研究与大众认知之间的差异,最后一种是大众认知与实际行动之间的差异;
- 其中最重要的是最后这种差异,即我们明明知道一些道理,却没有付诸于行动;
- 要改变这些,最重要的是弄清楚我们是如何思考的,如何建立习惯的,只有这样我们减少这一差异。
