One helpful tip per day:)

Why does the world keep improving, yet we feel the opposite? Morgan Housel offers an explanation:

  1. As the world improves, our threshold for complaints lowers.
  2. In the absence of big problems, people shift their focus to smaller ones; in the absence of small problems, they focus on petty or even imaginary issues.
  3. People can never truly be at ease because, even after solving every problem, their anxiety shifts to the next one, no matter how trivial it is compared to previous issues.
  4. When solving problems becomes part of someone’s identity, they may occasionally see problems where none exist.

为什么世界一直在进步,我们却感觉相反?Morgan Housel 给出了一个解释:

  1. 随着世界的改善,我们抱怨的门槛反而降低了;
  2. 在没有大问题时,人们会将注意力转向较小的问题;在没有小问题时,他们会关注琐碎甚至是想象中的问题;
  3. 人们永远无法完全安心,因为即使解决了每一个问题,人们的焦虑也会转向下一个问题,无论这个问题与之前的相比多么微不足道;
  4. 但当解决问题成为人们的身份时,有时会在本不存在的地方看到问题。
