One helpful tip per day:)

How to channel our curiosity? Anne-Laure Le Cunff offers her suggestions:

  1. Curiosity and impulsivity share similar neural mechanisms, both linked in the brain's reward system. While curiosity can drive knowledge and innovation, it is also easily hijacked by low-value information.
  2. "Curiosity snacks" are intentional nudges that guide our impulsive curiosity toward meaningful learning, creativity, and discovery.
  3. Curiosity can be impulsive. However, the smartest strategy isn't to suppress it—it's to channel it.
  4. Replace mindless apps on your phone's home screen with ones that激发your curiosity and promote meaningful exploration.
  5. The easier it is to pick up a book, the more likely you are to read it. Keep good books within easy reach on your desk, coffee table, or nightstand.
  6. Seek out creators and fellow curious minds who share interesting ideas. If you fall into a "rabbit hole," at least it will be one worth exploring.

如何引导我们的好奇心?Anne-Laure Le Cunff 给出了她的建议:

  1. 好奇心和冲动性有相似的神经机制,二者在大脑的奖赏系统中相互关联。虽然好奇心能够促使知识和创新,但也容易被低价值的信息所劫持;
  2. “好奇零食”是一种引导我们冲动的好奇心走向学习、创造和有意义的策略;
  3. 好奇心可能是冲动的。但最聪明的策略并不是与它对抗——而是引导它;
  4. 把手机主屏上的无意义应用程序替换成能激发你好奇心的应用程序。
  5. 书籍越容易拿起,你就越有可能阅读它们;
  6. 寻找那些倾向于分享有趣想法的创作者和同样充满好奇心的人。如果你掉进了一个“兔子洞”,至少它是个有趣的“洞”。
