One helpful tip per day:)

Every time Dustin Curtis sits down to write a blog post, code, or start a new project, the same thought creeps in: In the age of AI, is this all just a waste of time? That thought is terrifying.

  1. Writing is how he thinks—how he shapes opinions and works through arguments. Over time, writing helps him generate more and better ideas.
  2. Thinking is compounding—the more you do it, the stronger it gets.
  3. But his thinking systems are atrophying, and he can feel it—his intuition, cleverness, and intellectual rigor have all dulled.
  4. Since AI can effortlessly expand on any idea, he feels less inclined to express his own—whether or not the ideas are fully formed.
  5. Crafting a prompt feels like scrolling through Netflix. Reading AI output feels like watching a show.
  6. Intellectual rigor comes from the journey—the dead ends, the uncertainty, and the inner debates.
  7. The real exercise for the brain comes from building the output yourself.
  8. Ironically, he now knows far more than he ever did before AI—but he feels slightly dumber. A little more dull. Slower.
