Thorsten Ball reflects on his ten-year career as a programmer:

1. despite his early exposure to programming, he did not start out with programming as a career.
2. in his opinion, fearlessness is the greatest strength of programmers, so they will always explore and always try.
3. programmers need to pay more attention to what customers need in the present rather than what they will need in the future. Because programming is just a tool, and helping customers achieve value reflects the value of programming.
