As the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman expressed an optimistic yet cautious attitude towards the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI):
- AGI will greatly accelerate human development, while humans will also understand how to coexist with AGI;
- The arrival of AGI has both great benefits and great risks, so we need to prepare early;
- OpenAI is committed to building more controllable models, and the transition from GPT3 to InstructGPT and ChatGPT is an example of this;
- We also need more dialogues on how to control these AGI systems, how to allocate the benefits they produce reasonably, and how to use them fairly.
