Daily Productive Sharing 047 - 如何写邮件

One helpful tip per day:)

(The English version follows)

前几天我们推荐了如何写简历 , 今天的这篇推荐是如何写邮件:How to Email。与一般的邮件教程不一样,这篇文章建议我们:

  1. No signoff.
  2. No greeting.
  3. Brevity signals respect. Three sentences or fewer.
  4. Don’t let the inbox become a to-do list.
  5. Check only two or three times a day.

分享一下我自己的邮件习惯吧:

  1. signoff 直接做成邮件签名,所以这点根本不用担心;
  2. 和比较熟悉的人邮件,可以根本不管格式,当作消息用;
  3. inbox zero 践行了很多年。

The other day we recommended how to write a resume , today's recommendation is how to write an email: How to Email. Unlike the usual email tutorials, this article advises us to:

  1. No signoff.
  2. No greeting.
  3. Brevity signals respect. Three sentences or fewer.
  4. Don’t let the inbox become a to-do list.
  5. Check only two or three times a day.

Let me share my own email habits:

  1. Signoff can be made into email signatures, so don't worry about that at all.
  2. When I write emails to familiar friends/colleagues, I usually ignore the format.
  3. inbox zero is a golden rule.
