One helpful tip per day:)

How should we read non-fiction? Robin Hanson suggests that we read with our own questions in mind, a method known as inquisitive reading. This approach has several benefits:

  1. It helps us answer our own questions;
  2. It makes us more critical while reading, rather than just following the author's perspective;
  3. It allows us to focus better and connect the material with our existing knowledge;
  4. The continuous thinking during reading helps us generate new ideas.

阅读非虚构类应该怎么读?Robin Hanson 建议我们带着自己的问题去阅读,也就是所谓的追寻式阅读。这样做有不少好处:

  1. 通过这样的阅读可以解答我们的疑惑;
  2. 我们在阅读时变得更有批判性,而不是一味地跟着作者走;
  3. 我们的注意力会更集中,能有空间去关联我们已有的知识;
  4. 阅读中持续的思考也有助于我们产生新的想法。
