The market is flooded with all kinds of book lists/book charts, if we accept them all, not only can we not finish reading, but also read well. How should we choose books? In today's sharing, the author suggests four aspects to consider whether to read a certain book: 1. caliber 2. utility 3. potency 4. appeal. The authors go further and give specific strategies for implementation:

Contrary to what one might believe, academics are not necessarily very skilled at using technology, but there’s no evidence that those kills correlate with academic performance, which doesn’t mean there’s no link between the two.

Utility is relative to goals and projects. “Readings” normally need to be organized by projects.

Caliber is the objective quality of the information.

Another principle is that bookmarking a web page doesn’t mean one should read it.
