Julie Evans summarized a number of lessons that have served her well to finish her tasks:
- Have a vision (maybe even the right one)
- Focus (do one thing at a time, maybe two)> Learn how to break things down
- Try to get something done every day
- Talk to someone when I get stuck
- Don't be scared of small problems
- Do whatever's necessary
- Have deadlines
- Believe in yourself
- I can do a lot!
Several of above focus more on her mental state, such as finding someone to talk to when she is stuck, such as not being scared of small problems, and such as believing in herself. Indeed, these may be ways that are neglected by everyone. Do you have any unique tips? Feel free to share them with us.

Excerpt
This is because without a framework for what I’m doing, it’s really easy to get stuck in small day-to-day decisions about what direction to take.
He suggested just picking a vision that seemed mostly reasonable and then moving that way until I learned more.
If I do more than about 2 things, then all of the things take forever to get finished.
f I’m doing an Important Thing, then I should try to make at least some progress on the Important Thing every day.
I’ve tried to stop feeling bad about telling someone when I’m stuck, and just go talk through whatever I’m working on with a person who usually helps me get unstuck
I’m trying to learn to be more optimistic and just think “ok, well, something weird happened, there are always weird things, it will be fine”.
Often when I try to do a thing it turns out that I can do it, so this is basically reasonable.
